The pitch clock was bound to be a big talking point of this year's Spring Training for both good and bad reasons. The MLB is certainly quite happy with it as games have been notably sped up and plays seem to come a lot faster rather than there being a lot of time between each pitch.

It is very easy to take one's routine for granted and sometimes even just speeding it up a little can make a big difference. Some big complaints about the pitch clock surrounding the league, including some our own LA players, revolve around the fact that it does not allow people to set up and has been resulting in multiple violations.

However, Dodgers LHP Clayton Kershaw joined The Orange County Register following a slow debut and painted the pitch clock as a distraction above all else.

“Today wasn’t a problem. I didn’t really have any issues with it today,” said Kershaw. “I did find myself looking at it a lot. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. It obviously does take a little bit of focus off what you’re doing when you’re looking at the pitch clock. I don’t know if I’m going to change that or not, honestly. I guess we’ll just have to see.”

It's a long season and Kershaw, along with the rest of LA's pitchers, will see how he develops a new routine with this change. He has already expressed that he believes he'll be just fine with this added rule and with his experience and years under his belt, I think fans have reason to trust him on this one.
