In this story:

While the San Antonio Spurs still have one game remaining in the 2023-24 season, Victor Wembanyama’s rookie campaign has officially come to an end as is set to sit out the final contest.

The generational prospect finished his first NBA season with averages of 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 3.6 blocks per contest. Wembanyama was by far the best rookie in the league and even led the NBA in blocks.

His rookie campaign will go down as own of the best all-time, which speaks to just how high his ceiling is. At 7-foot-4, the sky is truly the limit and his ultimate body of work when he’s done playing the game could be among the best ever.

Although his rookie season is officially over, Wembanyama will likely be taking the court and shocking the world again this summer. He is expected to participate in the Olympics in a few months in Paris, representing the host country of France. As such, we shouldn’t have to wait until the start of the next NBA season in October to see Wembanyama in action again.

In this summer’s Olympics, expect him to continue emerging as one of the best basketball players in the world despite being just 20 years old. It would not at all be surprising if he eclipsed the top-20 of the NBA as early as next season.
