Report: No Contract Offer Can Keep Kyrie Irving on Nets

Kyrie Irving reportedly said it's not about the money.

Kyrie Irving shocked the NBA world when he suddenly demanded his trade request from the Brooklyn Nets on Friday morning. It appears more and more of the situation is being revealed, and Chris Haynes reported what may have been the final decisive blow.

There were reports of Irving's camp not liking the "stipulation" that the Nets gave on Kyrie's contract, and it seems that the stipulation was about Brooklyn winning a championship. As a result, Haynes reported that Irving is so upset that he wouldn't even stay with the Nets even if they offered him a max contract. No contract offer can keep Kyrie Irving with the Brooklyn Nets, and the situation is no longer about money.

It's an interesting stipulation to give Kyrie Irving because a team winning a championship is more of a team award than an individual award. Kyrie can't control the whole team winning a championship, but he can control individual accomplishments like being All-NBA or becoming an All-Stars. It's honestly pretty easy to see why that stipulation would upset him if that's the case.

Regardless, every story has three sides to it, including this one. There's Kyrie Irving's perspective, the Nets' perspective, and then the neutral truth of it all. Hour by hour, more and more of this dramatic trade request is getting revealed and the dominoes are falling.
