Golden Knights Secure Playoff Berth

The Vegas Golden Knights have clinched the seventh postseason berth in organizational history. With the Calgary Flames' latest loss to the Utah Hockey Club, the Golden Knights are heading to the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Golden Knights are now the fourth team to clinch a playoff berth this season. They join the Dallas Stars and Winnipeg Jets as the three teams in the Western Conference and the Washington Capitals as the sole Eastern Conference squad to already clinch.
The Golden Knights have been the model of consistency in the NHL since their organization debuted during the 2017-2018 season. In that eight-year span, they’ve become a perennial contender and top team in the Western Conference. They even hoisted the Stanley Cup during the 2023 season.
It’s not hard to see why Vegas is back in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Their starting goalie, Adin Hill, has been excellent over 45 starts and posted a 2.46 goals-against average along the way.
Their offense is a deep and battle-tested group as well. They have 12 forwards with at least 11 goals, five 20+ goal scorers, and two 30-goal scorers. Every single line can crush opposing goaltending and cause matchup issues.
The team also has superstar leaders at the top of the lineup. In addition to top defenders Noah Hanifin and Alex Pietrangelo and captain Mark Stone, the organization is placing a ton of faith in their star center, Jack Eichel, to carry the team. It’s a faith that’s well-earned as Eichel puts the finishing touches on the best regular season of his career. The former second-overall pick has 27 goals and 66 assists for 93 points. The right-handed center has never hit the 100-point mark in the NHL, but has nine games left to hit that mark.
The Golden Knights are likely to finish the season as the Pacific Division winners as well. This would mark the fourth time that Vegas has claimed the division title. They’ve been the most consistent tea in the Pacific since their organization debuted, and another division crown will set them up for a first-round matchup with the first Wild Card team in the Western Conference.
