TUSCALOOSA, Ala— Alabama baseball put together a resounding win against UAB on Tuesday night, as the Crimson Tide defeated the Blazers 12-2.

Six Alabama players had at least one RBI, but none were as loud as Drew Williamson's three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

"I think we came out a little slow," Williamson said. "You gotta go back to what works. You gotta stay aggressive, get in hitter's counts and put good swings on the ball. I felt like we did that better in the second half of the game."

Outside of Williamson, Tommy Seidl had a perfect 3-for-3 night with three runs scored; Jim Jarvis only had one hit, but it was an RBI-single to go along with a sacrifice fly. Max Williams hit an RBI single as a pinch hitter in the bottom of the seventh, and he was credited with an RBI after the pitcher walked him with the bases loaded.

Jacob McNairy got the win after throwing five innings and giving up one earned run. That run came in the first inning, but McNairy soon settled down and brought the UAB offense to a halt.

"He's at his best when he's sinking his fastball at the bottom of the strike zone," head coach Brad Bohannon said. "Early on he was up and out over the plate. He settled in, and once he got a double play, he wiggled his way out of traffic. After that, he started executing pitches better."

McNairy continued to pitch well until the offense took the lead back in the fourth inning after the left fielder dropped the ball with two outs. Then in the sixth inning, Caden Rose hit an RBI single, Will Hodo drove a run home with the sacrifice, and Williamson topped it off with a homer to right field.

The Tide continued to score until Jarvis' last RBI activated the 10-run mercy rule.

With the win, Alabama improved to 18-4 and 15-2 at home.

The Crimson Tide welcomes its first SEC opponent as Kentucky visits Tuscaloosa for a weekend series. The first game is scheduled for Friday, at 6 p.m. CT, and will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
