The Alabama Crimson Tide women's basketball program saw its SEC Tournament run end at the hands of the Tennessee Volunteers on March 8, but, thanks to a strong regular season, head coach Kristy Curry's squad was selected to appear as an 8-seed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

The Crimson Tide appears in the NCAA Tournament for the 13th time in program history and the third time under Curry with all three coming in the most recent four seasons.

Alabama will face the 9-seeded Florida State Seminoles in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Austin, Texas. Should the Crimson Tide win the opening round game they'll face the winner of 1-seed Texas and 16-seeded Drexel.

The ladies finished the regular season 23-9 (10-6) and finished fourth in the SEC, making it the third consecutive season winning 20 or more games. The Florida State Seminoles finished 23-10 (12-6) this season and ended in sixth place in the ACC regular season. They lost on semifinal Saturday in the conference tournament to NC State.

Should Alabama win both matchups in Austin, they'll play in Portland for the Sweet 16/Elite 8 rounds to advance to the Final 4 in Cleveland, Oh. Other notable seeds in Alabama's bracket include 2-seeded Stanford, 3-seeded NC State, 4-seeded Gonzaga, 5-seeded Utah and 6-seeded Tennessee.

The Crimson Tide was eliminated in the first round of the 2023 tournament by Baylor. Curry's 2021 team reached the second round of the tournament before losing to two-seeded Maryland.

Alabama was one of seven SEC schools in this year's field that is highlighted by conference favorites 1-seed South Carolina and 3-seed LSU.
