Alabama WR DeVonta Smith Named Associated Press Player of the Year

He is the first wide receiver ever to win the award

University of Alabama wide out DeVonta Smith continues to dominate the postseason awards. 

On Tuesday morning, the Heisman finalist was named the Associated Press College Football Player of the Year, becoming the first ever wide receiver to win the award.

Quarterback Max Jones finished second, while running back Najee Harris was ninth. 

Smith has hauled in 98 receptions for 1,511 yards and 17 touchdowns in 11 games, helping the Crimson Tide to an undefeated record and SEC championship.
