The Crimson Tide held a closed scrimmage on Saturday, marking just its third day in pads for fall camp. We found out how the quarterbacks performed so naturally the conversation started under center. Is this quarterback competition going to play out like the 2011 battle between AJ McCarron and Phillip Sims?

Alabama head coach Nick Saban pointed out several areas the Tide needs to improve on, including receivers catching the ball. How challenging is it to evaluate the quarterbacks when other positions aren't performing to the best of their ability?

The Associated Press put out its preseason poll, leaving Alabama in its lowest position to enter a season since 2009. The program hits the problem with the polls and how it influences the sport unfairly without seeing any football.
