Countdown to Crimson Tide's 2024 Season Opener:

201 days.

Today's Crimson Tide Schedule:

  • No games scheduled.

Crimson Tide Results:

  • Women's tennis: defeated Indiana, 4-1, in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
  • Men's tennis: defeated Wisconsin, 6-1, in Madison, Wisc.
  • Women's basketball: lost to LSU, 85-66, in Baton Rouge, La.

Did You Notice?

  • Former Alabama pitcher Spencer Turnbull, previously a Detroit Tigers lifer, is now on to the Philadelphia Phillies after being non-tendered by the Motor City club this offseason. The righty tossed a no-hitter in 2021 before undergoing Tommy John surgery shortly thereafter, making just seven starts in the 2023 season. His deal in Philadelphia is for $2 million, with an additional $2 million in incentives.
  • With the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl win, Isaiah Buggs is now part of a Super Bowl-winning squad. Buggs moved on from the Detroit Lions, runners-up in the NFC, earlier this season and joined Kansas City's practice squad in January.

On This Day in Crimson Tide History:

February 12, 1966: Coach Paul W. Bryant officially quelled rumors that he will run for governor by issuing the following statement: "I feel the place for me to serve my state best is as head football coach at the University of Alabama. I thank all of those who have urged me to run, and I have given it careful consideration, but I'm a teacher, not a politician." – Bryant Museum

Crimson Tide Quote of the Day:

"I'm just a simple plow hand from Arkansas, but I have learned over the years how to hold a team together. How to lift some men up, how to calm others down, until finally they've got one heartbeat, together, a team." Bryant, when asked why he was so successful as a coach.
