  • In the Alabama women's basketball team's comeback win over rival Auburn, which doubled as the Crimson Tide's 20th win of the season, guard Sarah Ashlee Barker joined the 1,000-point club. Barker is in her second season at Alabama after transferring from Georgia.
  • Former Alabama football player Vinnie Sunseri, the son of Sal Sunseri and a defensive standout in the early 2010s, is now the safeties coach at Washington.
  • Excitement continues to build for A.J. McCarron's return to the St. Louis Battlehawks, now of the UFL. McCarron was recently released at his request by the Cincinnati Bengals, with whom he played in two games last NFL season.

On This Day in Crimson Tide History:

February 19, 1951: Clarence "Butch" Avinger accepted the Jacobs Trophy at a special ceremony honoring some of the South's top performers in Durham, N.C. Avinger was the Southeastern Conference's best blocker for 1950.

February 19, 1954: Artist Daniel A. Moore, who has his paintings depicting Crimson Tide football moments hanging all over the state, was born in Birmingham.
