  • Alabama golfer Nick Dunlap became the first amateur to win a PGA Tour event since Phil Mickelson did it in 1991. On Sunday, Dunlap sealed his historic victory in the American Express in La Quinta, Calif.
  • Jahmyr Gibbs and the Detroit Lions continued their feel-good run through the NFL postseason with a victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second leg of the NFCs' divisional round playoffs. Detroit will face San Francisco next weekend for a berth in the Super Bowl.

On This Day in Crimson Tide History:

January 22, 1904: Hoyt "Wu" Winslett, a triple-threat star for Alabama from 1924-26 and the South's first AP All-American, was born in Horseshoe Bend, Ala. In his three years of competition, Winslett never played in a losing game and helped the Tide to three Southern Conference titles and two national championships.

January 22, 1957: Jeff Rutledge was born in Birmingham, Ala.
