Today's Crimson Tide Schedule:

No games scheduled

Crimson Tide Results:

Football, Rose Bowl: Michigan 27, Alabama 20 (OT)

Did You Notice?

  • The Wolverines registered five sacks in the first half alone, matching their previous single-game season best in just 30 minutes and setting an all-time College Football Playoff record for sacks in a half per (four by Clemson in the 2016 National Championship game). It was just the fourth time in Nick Saban's tenure at Alabama that the Crimson Tide had suffered five sacks in a half, per ESPN Stats and Info (previous games in 2021, 2013, 2010). Michigan finished the game with seven sacks.
  • Alabama's 288 total offensive yards were a season low. Only two teams have topped 300 total offensive yards this season against Michigan's defense (Nebraska, 305; Ohio State, 395).
  • Freshman safety Caleb Downs was credited with 14 tackles and a pass breakup. Cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry was second in tackles with 10.
  • The men's basketball team received three votes in the AP Top 25, which obviously wasn't good enough for it to be ranked, but the Crimson Tide is No. 5 in the latest NCAA Net Rankings as all five of its losses have been to Quad 1 opponents.

On This Day in Crimson Tide History:

January 2, 1965: The New York Jets signed Joe Namath to the largest rookie contract in pro football history: $427,000. It included a provision guaranteeing him a lifetime pension of $5,000 a year from the Jets.

January 2, 1967: Kenny Stabler, in a near flawless performance, passed and ran Alabama to a 34-7 rout of Nebraska in the Sugar Bowl. The win completed a perfect 11-0 season for Alabama.

January 2, 1978: In the much-heralded matchup of coaches, Alabama's Paul W. “Bear” Bryant vs. Ohio State's Woody Hayes, the Crimson Tide dominated from the start for a 35-6 victory in the first appearance of a Big Ten school in the Sugar Bowl. Quarterback Jeff Rutledge was named game MVP.

January 2, 1988: Michigan edged Alabama in the Hall of Fame Bowl in Tampa, 28-24. The Wolverines scored the game-winning touchdown on a 20-yard pass from Demetrius Brown to John Kolesar for a 28–24 win.

Crimson Tide Quote of the Day:

“Woody is a great coach ... and I ain't bad.” — Paul W. “Bear” Bryant after Alabama defeated Ohio State 35-6 in the 1978 Sugar Bowl.
