Did You Notice?

  • Former Alabama relief pitcher Dylan Ray, who has been making waves in the minor leagues, is still getting guys to chase. He's now with the Amarillo Sod Poodles, the Arizona Diamondbacks' Double-A affiliate.
  • It's been some tough sledding early for rookie Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers, starting 0-2, but new head coach Frank Reich believes his squad can turn its fortunes around. The Panthers most recently dropped a Monday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints.
  • Another former Alabama baseball player, Cobie Fletcher-Vance, is in the minor league baseball playoffs. His Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (Miami Marlins affiliate) are taking on the state of Alabama's own Montgomery Biscuits (Tampa Bay Rays affiliate) in the Southern League playoffs.

On This Day in Crimson Tide History:

September 20, 1986: Running back Bobby Humphrey rushed for 114 yards, and Alabama outgained Florida on the ground 223-42 during the Crimson Tide's stunning 21-7 win in Gainesville. The Gators had taken a 7-0 halftime lead, but Ray Perkins’ team completely dominated the second half in the first meeting between the programs since 1979.

Crimson Tide Quote of the Day:

“If you think there is such a thing as an unimportant game, just try losing one.” — Gene Stallings
