TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama tight end Elijah Brown has entered the NCAA transfer portal, per On3 Sports.

The former 4-star was ranked as the No. 11 tight end in the 2022 class. He is the first active Crimson Tide player to transfer since spring practices started. However, Brown is the 16th member of the team to transfer since the end of last season.

Alabama's tight end room has arguably the most depth among every position on the roster, as Maryland transfer CJ Dippre, Robbie Ouzts and Amari Niblack were ahead of Brown. True freshman Danny Lewis also showed a lot of promise during the early spring practices as well.

Brown committed to Alabama on Feb. 12, 2021 and enrolled into the university on Jan. 12, 2022. Never seeing the field in his freshman season combined with the addition of Dippre was enough for him to transfer.

The Ohio native's final two offers before committing to the Crimson Tide were LSU and Auburn. Some other notable offers he received during the recruiting process were Penn State, USC and Notre Dame.
