Extra Point: Big Name Alabama Stars Find New NFL Homes in Free Agency

Two Crimson Tide legends found new NFL homes after free agency officially opened.

NFL free agency is officially in full swing, and with it, two former Alabama stars are set to suit up for new teams in 2024.

Derrick Henry and Calvin Ridley will both join new teams this offseason with Henry combining forces with Lamar Jackson in Baltimore, and Ridley becoming a member of the Tennessee Titans as their likely wide receiver No. 1.

Henry, who was drafted in 2016, has spent eight seasons in Tennessee and has already put together a likely hall of fame caliber career.

"King" Henry, as he has come to be known, is less than 500 yards short of 10,000 on his career, and is one of just eight players in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards in a season.

He joins an already lethal Baltimore offense, led by dynamic quarterback Lamar Jackson. The Ravens had one of the NFL's top rushing attacks in 2023, but now have the opportunity to get even better in 2024.

They were just a game short of a Super Bowl berth last season, so the addition of Henry makes the Ravens an early favorite to reach the big game.

Next is Ridley, who signed a 4-year, $92 million contract with the Tennessee Titans after spending 2023 with the Jaguars. Ridley returned from his year long suspension last season and was a solid receiving option for Jacksonville, even their best at times.

He showed flashes last year of the elite speed that made him a first round pick , so pairing him with a quarterback who likes to stretch the field as much as Will Levis is a perfect match.

Though he was often relegated to being a second option in Jacksonville, Ridley still has the ability to be a true No. 1 wide receiver and is poised to prove so in 2024.
