Not many schools can say it, but for Alabama, the men's and women's basketball teams are going dancing.

The Crimson Tide will be represented in the NCAA Tournament on both the men's and women's side, but each program's path to getting there was quite different.

For Nate Oats' squad, Alabama has been one of the best teams in the country all season, including a No. 1 ranking for the first time in 20 years. A lot of the success can be attributed to star freshman Brandon Miller, who is up for multiple national awards and has already been named SEC Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year.

The historic season hasn't come without controversy, however, as former player Darius Miles was arrested on capital murder charges in January. Soon the spotlight turned to Miller, who's connection to the shooting sparked controversy among fans and media alike.

Still, the men's team continued to play at a high level, and finished the regular season as SEC Champions and sit one win away from winning its second SEC Tournament title in three years. Now the Tide will wait and see if it did enough to earn the top overall seed in the tournament.

On the women's side, Kristy Curry's squad finished with a 20-10 record, and at times looked like one of the stronger teams in the country that could make noise in the big dance. But the regular season ended poorly for Alabama, losing its last three regular season games and becoming a 6-seed in the SEC Tournament.

The troubles continued as 14-seed Kentucky defeated Alabama by double digits to bring the Tide's conference tournament run to an abrupt end.

Now the women's team is projected among the Last Four Byes according to ESPN's Charlie Creme. Sunday night will reveal where Alabama is seeded going into the NCAA Tournament.
