Did you notice?

  • Marlon Humphrey was credited with an interception, three tackles and broke up two passes as the Baltimore Ravens won their showdown in San Francisco, 33-19. Both teams remained on top of their conferences, although the 49ers fell into a three-way tie with Philadelphia and Detroit for the best record in the NFC.
  • Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles didn't appreciate the hometown fans loudly chant “Run the ball! Run the ball!” when their game with the Giants was on the line. “They’re supposed to get loud for the defense,” Hurts said. However, he set the NFL record for most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in a season (15), threw for 301 yards and had a 36-yard touchdown pass to DeVonta Smith during the 33-25 victory.
  • For the Giants, safety Xavier McKinney had 10 tackles, including seven solo, and a quarterback hit.

On This Date in Crimson Tide History:

December 26, 1930: Alabama's football team was the guest of former player Johnny Mack Brown at MGM Studios where Brown and Wallace Beery were starring in a gangster movie. The players caused a ruckus by laughing out loud when the former Alabama star escorted one of the gangster's girlfriends on stage, and some were overheard saying, "He gets paid to have such fun." After the studio visit, Wallace Wade took his squad to Occidental Field for a scrimmage in preparation for the upcoming Rose Bowl game against Washington State. – Bryant Museum

December 26, 1982: Kenneth Darby was born in Huntsville, Ala.

Crimson Tide Quote of the Day:

"It's not the will to win that matters, everybody has that. It's the will to prepare to win that matters." – Paul W. “Bear” Bryant
