Alabama Soccer Scores Early and Often in Final Non-Conference Game

The Alabama Crimson Tide soccer team broke the floodgates open in Macon, Ga. as the team put up its highest scoring output of the season, defeating the Macon Bears 5-1.
The Crimson Tide put up all five goals in the first half and delivered Macon its first loss of the season. Alabama puts non-conference play to bed as the remainder of the schedule will be SEC games.
"I'm very pleased with our performance today. We approached the game exactly as I hoped we would," said head coach Wes Hart. We came out with an aggressive mentality and put our stamp on the game. This game could easily have been a trap game sandwiched between UGA and Arkansas.
Forward Gianna Paul started the scoring from range to give her seven goals this season and she was followed up by Felicia Knox scoring, giving Alabama a 2-0 lead in the game's first 15 minutes.
The Crimson Tide then saw goals from Leah Kunde, Cameron Silva and Nadia Ramadan to close the first half out and shut the door on the Bears.
The Alabama Crimson Tide soccer program hits the road for Macon, Ga. to take on the Mercer Bears.
The Tide has tied four of its last five matches to remain undefeated but hasn't quite played the level of soccer required to capture wins. Both teams enter today's match unbeaten with the exact same 5-0-4 record.
It's the final non-conference game left on Alabama's schedule and the Tide currently holds a 7-1 series advantage over the Bears.
The game will be televised on ESPN+ and begins at 1 p.m. CT. Follow our live blog coverage below if you can't watch the contest.
Alabama sophomore Gianna Paul currently paces the Crimson Tide in goals this season with six. Scoring has been an issue for the Tide after leading the NCAA in goals last year. Alabama's Isabel Smith is the only other athlete with more than one goal, scoring two against Lipscomb.
The Crimson Tide will likely turn to Coralie Lollier in net as head coach Wes Hart has alternated goalies for each game this season. Alabama will be back on the road on Thursday taking on Arkansas, meaning momentum on Sunday will be valuable. The Razorbacks opened up SEC play with a 3-1 victory over the Tennessee Vols, while Alabama tied Georgia 1-1 on Thursday.
Hart's squad will be back at home on Sunday, Sept. 24 against Vanderbilt as the Crimson Tide only have four home games remaining.
