    Alabama Women's Basketball Wins on the Road at Kentucky, 72-65

    The Crimson Tide used a big second half to get past the Wildcats and win its fifth straight road game.

    For the first time in program history, Alabama women's basketball won its fifth straight Southeastern Conference regular-season road game as the Crimson Tide won at  Kentucky Thursday night, 72-65. 

    The Wildcats jumped out to an-11 point lead in the second quarter, behind some solid defense that held Alabama to no points in 10 minutes over two quarters.

    With the score being 26-15 halfway through the second quarter in favor of the home team, Alabama flipped an offensive switch and was able to hit three straight 3s to make it just a two point game at halftime, 33-31.

    Coming out of the half, Alabama picked up a lot of slack on defense, and was able to get the lead four minutes in on a Brittany Davis 3-pointer.

    Kentucky was only able to score nine points in the quarter, with the Alabama defense holding the Wildcats to just 25 percent shooting from the field. The Crimson Tide went into the final frame leading 49-42.

    The fourth quarter was even, but Kentucky never regained the lead. The Crimson Tide was able to go up by 13 at one point, but a few late Kentucky 3s made the game tighter at the end.  

    Brittany Davis lead Alabama with 22 points and 11 rebounds for another triple-double. Aaliyah Nye scored 16 points, including four 3s, along with four rebounds.

    Kentucky was led by Jada Walker and Robyn Benton, with the duo scoring 15 and 14 points, respectively. 

    With the win, Alabama moved to 18-6 on the year and 7-4 in the SEC, remaining in fifth place in the conference. It will take on Auburn in Tuscaloosa on Sunday at 4 pm CT.

    Fourth Quarter:

    • Kentucky with a three, which makes it 68-62. Karly Weathers gets fouled on the inbounds. 
    • McQueen makes one, 68-59 with about 30 seconds left.
    • Loyal McQueen gets fouled, and makes both free throws. 67-59 Alabama with 50 seconds left. She will go to the line again
    • Another Kentucky three makes it 65-59 with one minute left Wildcats fighting hard here with under a minute left. 
    • Kentucky hits a three to cut the lead to single digits. 65-56 Alabama leads still with 1:43 left.
    • Timeout Alabama with trouble inbounding the ball, 65-53 Crimson Tide lead with 2:06 left in the game.
    • 2:35 left in the game. Alabama leads 65-52 after a Brittany Davis and-one.
    • Kentucky makes a pair of free throws, 62-51 Alabama leads with 3:17 left.
    • Brittany Davis hits a three, followed by a Kentucky layup. 59-47 Alabama with 5 minutes left.
    • Nye hits a three to extend the lead to double-digits. 54-42 Alabama with 8:21 left in the game. Nye now has 11 points.
    • Aaliyah Nye opens the quarter with a layup. 51-42 Alabama with 8:30 left in the game 

    Third Quarter: 

    • End of the quarter: Alabama leads it 49-42. Crimson Tide held Kentucky to just nine points in the quarter.

    • Kentucky calls a timeout with 39 seconds left. Alabama leads it 48-39. Crimson Tide has made their last three field goals.
    • Jada Rice hits a tough layup to give Alabama a five point lead. 42-37 Alabama leads with 2 minutes left.
    • Davis makes them both. 38-35 Alabama 
    • Media timeout with 4:53 left in the quarter. Alabama leads 36-35 and Davis will go to the line.
    • Brittany Davis makes a three to give Alabama the lead. 36-35 Alabama leads. Davis up to 11 points.
    • Jada Rice makes a layup to open Alabama's half. 35-33 Kentucky leads.
    • Kentucky hits two free throws to open the scoring. 35-31 Kentucky with 7:36 left in the quarter.

    Second Quarter:

    • Halftime: Kentucky leads 33-31. Alabama was once down 11, but a strong second quarter got the Crimson Tide back into the game.

    • Hannah Barber and Weathers make back to back threes to make it 26-24. Kentucky calls a timeout with 4:40 left in the half. 
    • Karly Weathers hits a three to stop the Alabama drought. 26-18 Kentucky leads with 5:15 left.
    • 26-15 Kentucky leads as Alabama takes a timeout with 7:46 left in the quarter. Alabama has not scored since 5:06 left in the first quarter.

    First Quarter:

    • Kentucky ends the quarter on a 9-0 run to lead 20-15
