Alabama stays atop polls, but gap narrows in AP Top 25

Crimson Tide continues run atop rankings following 35-13 victory over Tennessee

The University of Alabama football team remained at No. 1 in the latest rankings, but the gap from the field narrowed in one poll.

Alabama received 24 first-place votes in the AP Top 25. It had 30 a week ago. The Crimson Tide defeated Third Saturday in October rival Tennessee, 35-13, but starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a high ankle sprain that required surgery

No. 2 LSU held its place and received 16 first-place votes. 

Ohio State had 13 first-place votes and jumped over No. 4 Clemson, the preseason No. 1 team and reigning national champion, received nine.
