No one knows what the fate of college football will be in 2020, but if it is played, there is the chance we could see some games that were not originally on the schedule due to the shuffling of schedules that might occur if more conferences go to a conference-only schedule.

While the Southeastern Conference is in wait-and-see mode for the rest of the month, and the University of Alabama's season opener will not be against USC, due to the Pac-12 cancelling all non-conference games, there is some speculation on who the Crimson Tide could open up with.

Per Gary Stokan, the President and CEO of the Chick-fil-a Peach Bowl, during his appearance on the Thom Abraham Show in Huntsville on Friday, he mentioned there have been talks of Alabama squaring off against Notre Dame in either Tuscaloosa, South Bend, or Dallas, where the USC game was originally suppose to take place.

That matchup would be a welcome sight for college football fans given the history of the two storied programs. Last time the two squared off was the 2013 BCS National Championship Game, where the Crimson Tide came away victorious, 42-14.
