Note: The University of Alabama is closed due to inclement weather, however the game is still on. The following will be in effect:

  • No reserved parking in the Coleman Coliseum lot
  • 2nd Avenue bridge will be closed
  • No shuttle service running from perimeter lots
  • Concessions will be limited
  • Club Room will be fully operational

Men's tennis: Georgia Tech 5, Alabama 2. Roan Jones and Andrii Zimnokh had two-set wins on courts four and five in singles.

  •  Alabama men's basketball guard Mark Sears was named the SEC Co-Player of the Week. It was Sears’ first career SEC Player of the Week honor, sharing the honor with Tennessee’s Dalton Knecht.
  • The Crimson Tide men's basketball team received votes in both the AP Top 25 and the coaches' poll, but was not ranked in either poll. Meanwhile, Alabama is No. 4 in the latest NCAA NET rankings.
  • The preseason D1Baseball rankings has Alabama at No. 19.

On This Date in Crimson Tide History:

January 16, 1990: All-American linebacker Keith McCants declared he was entering the NFL draft in April and would not be back for his senior year. McCants' announcement ended a season-long speculation that he would not return for his senior year.

January 16, 1995: Jonathan Allen was born in Anniston, Ala.

January 16, 2007: Nick Saban made one of his final additions for his first coaching staff at Alabama, adding the man who would be the position coach for two Heisman Trophy winners, Mark Ingram Jr. and Derrick Henry. Burton Burns was hired from Clemson to be the Crimson Tide’s running backs coach and associate head coach.

January 15, 2012: Alabama football's 21-0 victory against LSU in New Orleans for the national championship appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated with the headline "Too Much Bama."
