Former Alabama Defender Becomes Second-Highest Paid Lineman in NFL

In this story:
Former Alabama defensive lineman Quinnen Williams turned in the best season of his NFL career in 2022 and was honored by the league with a First Team All-Pro selection.
The New York Jets have rewarded Williams's strong play thus far by signing him to a four-year, $96 million contract extension, including $66 million guaranteed according to numerous reports.

The contract is the largest amount of guaranteed money the Jets have ever agreed to, surpassing the $51 million in fellow former Crimson Tide player C.J. Mosley's 2019 free agent deal.
Williams is now the second-highest paid defensive lineman in the NFL based on average annual value– only superstar Aaron Donald is being paid more by the Rams.
Interestingly enough the New York Jets also singned Williams's brother Quincy to a contract extension. The linebacker agreed to a three-year, $18 million contract earlier in the offseason.
In four seasons in the Big Apple, Williams has amassed 191 tackles with 33 for a loss, 27.5 sacks, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
The New York Jets have high expectations entering 2023 after trading for former Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Williams and the Jets are set to appear on HBO's "Hard Knocks" ahead of the football season, maximizing the hype around "Gang Green".
