Former Alabama Standout Jerry Jeudy Traded to Cleveland Browns

In this story:
Former Alabama standout wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was traded from the Denver Broncos to the Cleveland Browns on Saturday, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“Trade: Broncos and Browns agreed to a deal today that will send WR Jerry Jeudy to Cleveland in exchange for a 2024 fifth and sixth-round draft pick,” Schefter writes. “Cleveland made a run at Jeudy at last season’s trade deadline. Now the Browns finally will get him once the trade is processed when the new league year begins Wednesday.”
Jeudy joins a Browns team that has three Crimson Tide products, including defensive lineman Dalvin Tomlinson, offensive tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. and perhaps most notably, fellow wide receiver Amari Cooper.
The Browns logged their best season since 2020 as they soared to an 11-6 record. Cleveland suffered many injuries throughout the year, including season-Enders for Pro Bowl running back Nick Chubb and quarterback Deshaun Watson. Head coach Kevin Stefanski won the NFL’s Coach of the Year Award for striving against these obstacles.
Jeudy, the 15th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, is still looking to break out and become one of the premier pass-catchers in the league. This past season, he logged 54 receptions for 758 yards and two touchdowns. He had high expectations this past season as in 2022 he had career-bests in every stat category despite missing two games.
Cooper, the fourth overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft, just wrapped up one the best seasons of his illustrious career as he earned his fifth trip to the Pro Bowl. On Dec. 24 against the Houston Texans, he set a franchise record 265 receiving yards while recording 11 receptions and two touchdowns.
Joining a receiver room with a former Alabama standout still in his prime could provide more chemistry and mentorship for Jeudy to improve and eventually shine.
