Brandon Miller Wins NBA Rookie Honor for Second Consecutive Month

In this story:
Former Alabama basketball standout Brandon Miller has thrived throughout his rookie season, especially of late.
In January, the Charlotte Hornets small forward excelled among his class by winning the Rookie of the Month honor for the Eastern Conference.
In February, after averaging 20.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.8 blocks per game, the second-overall pick shined brighter than the rest of his draft class once again as he was named the recipient of the award once again on Monday.
These efforts, plus a 26-point outing on March 3, helped Miller in each stat category for the season, as he's now averaging 16.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.5 blocks.
Miller is the highest-drafted Crimson Tide player since the 1995 draft, when forward Antonio McDyess was drafted second overall by the Los Angeles Clippers
A 5-star recruit headlining a star-studded recruiting class out of high school, Miller was the leader on an all-time Alabama team that won the SEC regular season championship, SEC Tournament championship and made the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Tournament.
The Antioch, Tennessee native averaged 18.8 points per game, leading the SEC, and added 8.2 rebounds while shooting 38 percent from beyond the arc.
Miller's incredible numbers earned him a plethora of awards and recognitions by season's end, including First Team All-SEC, SEC Freshman of the Year, SEC Player of the Year and Second Team All-American status.
Similar to the Eastern Conference, the Western also had the same Rookie of the Month for January and February, as highly touted San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama took home the honor once again. Wembanyama was the only prospect selected before Miller as San Antonio grabbed him with the first overall pick.
