TUSCALOOSA, Ala.— The Alabama football team held its second scrimmage of spring practice on Saturday. Head coach Kalen DeBoer touched base on two members of the Crimson Tide offensive line after the fact, with just seven days until A-Day and the official conclusion of spring ball. One sustained an injury Saturday. The other is expected to rejoin the team following an absence from practice.

Brailsford started 13 games at center for Washington in 2023, after which he followed DeBoer to Tuscaloosa. He has been a rare sight this spring as he and veteran James Brockermeyer compete for the starting center role, vacated by Seth McLaughlin's transfer to Ohio State. He was an All-Pac 12 Second Team honoree last season and has also played right guard.

"Parker's just going through some non-football related things," said DeBoer. "He's gonna be with us. He's working out with our strength staff and done a great job there." He added multiple times that the center's absence from practice had absolutely nothing to do with Brailsford doing anything wrong, and the redshirt sophomore will not be transferring. "He's gonna be ready to go here sooner than later."

Meanwhile, offensive lineman Jaeden Roberts was injured during Saturday's scrimmage. DeBoer did not disclose the specific injury to Roberts, a player whose improvement played a big role in last season's run of success, but said early indications were that it was not serious. "He might be down for a little bit," DeBoer said. "Feels like it'll be nothing major." Roberts will be evaluated to determine the concrete details.
