Overall, it's the sixth meeting between the legendary programs, but first in the College Football Playoff. Alabama leads the series 3-2, but they're 2-2 in bowl meetings. Most recently they played in the Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Day 2020, with the Crimson Tide claiming a 35-16 victory.
