The Maxwell Football Club announced its semifinalists for the Maxwell and Bednarik awards, going to the nations top offensive and defensive players respectively. 

Alabama redshirt sophomore quarterback Jalen Milroe is one of 17 semifinalists for the Maxwell Award, while junior defensive end Dallas Turner is one of 20 semifinalists for the Bednarik Award.

The finalists wil be announced on Nov. 28 with the winners being honored as part of the Home Depot College Football Award Show on ESPN on Dec. 4.

The Crimson Tide has seen five former players win the Maxwell Award with three former players taking the Bednarik Award all coming in the Nick Saban-era.

AJ McCarron passed for over 3000 yards in 2013 on his way to winning the Maxwell, Derrick Henry ran for 28 touchdowns in 2015, Tua Tagovailoa almost cleared 4000 yards passing in 2018, DeVonta Smith won the Heisman for his 23 receiving touchdowns in 2020 and Bryce Young nearly passed for 5000 yards in 2021 on his way to winning the Maxwell Award.

Jonathan Allen became the Tide's initial winner of the Bednarik in 2016 with his 16 tackles for loss, Minkah Fitzpatrick won the award in after tallying up 60 tackles and leading the Tide's defense in 2017 while Will Anderson won the award with his 17 tackles for loss and 10 sack season in 2022.

Milroe has completed 65.2 percent of his passes on 129-of-198 with 2,070 yards and 16 touchdowns compared to six interceptions this season, while rushing for 333 yards and 12 touchdowns as well.

Turner leads the Tide in tackles for loss with 10.5 and also has seven sacks this season.
