Nick Saban Apologizes and Appeals to Crowd on The Joe Gaither Show | Episode 77: Sept. 7, 2023

When Nick Saban speaks, we listen. His Wednesday press conference drives the conversation on Thursday's show.

We inch closer and closer to Saturday's big matchup between Alabama and Texas on the Thursday edition of "The Joe Gaither Show on BamaCentral". Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban met with the media on Wednesday so we spend most of our show focused on what he had to say.

First things first, Saban implored the Alabama faithful to do its part on impacting the game on Saturday night. The crowd in Austin last season was borderline hostile and created an atmosphere and an environment that really influenced that game. 

Six of Alabama's 15 penalties committed against Texas last season were procedural penalties, both on offense and on defense. Will Alabama fans answer the bell on Saturday night and create an intimidating atmosphere?

The program then shifts into something unusual that happened in the press conference. Saban singled out BamaCentral's Austin Hannon and apologized for the way he answered Hannon's post game question this past Saturday. Gaither offers his thoughts on Saban's style in press conferences and offers appreciation for the veteran coach.

The program concludes with appreciation for Steve Sarkisian and his time in Tuscaloosa and acknowledgment that the Texas coach may have something up his sleeve early in the game due to knowledge of the Alabama defense, but give Saban some time to settle in as he's got a great understanding of what offenses are trying to do.
