The Alabama Crimson Tide leads the all-time series over the Tennessee Volunteers 58-39-7 and holds a 32-17-7 lead at home in Tuscaloosa.
Last season's game was extremely dramatic as the Volunteers won 52-49 on a final-play field goal. The victory was Tennessee's first over Alabama in the Nick Saban-tenure. Saban and current Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel are now 1-1 against one another in their current roles.
This season's game will be Alabama's third time on CBS this season, following the Ole Miss and Texas A&M games and Tennessee's second as they are on CBS this coming weekend against Texas A&M.
The Volunteers were off this past weekend but currently carry a 4-1 record with a 1-1 record in the SEC with a win over South Carolina and a loss against Florida.
Alabama was on the road this past weekend against Texas A&M and has a 5-1 record with a 3-0 record in the SEC.
This year's matchup will feature new quarterbacks on both sides as Alabama's Bryce Young and Tennessee's Hendon Hooker are both into the NFL. The Tide expects to start Jalen Milroe and the Vols expect to start Joe Milton.
Last season's game featured 17 Alabama penalties and five touchdown receptions for Tennessee's Jalin Hyatt, who also is in the NFL now.
