Two Alabama Stars Named Finalist For Individual Awards

In this story:
The No. 8 Alabama Crimson Tide just completed an 11-1 regular season and is getting set to play in the 2023 SEC Championship Game as the post-season is upon us.
Two of Alabama's most important players received good new on Tuesday as they remain in the running for prestigious season long-awards.
Alabama edge rusher Dallas Turner was named a finalist for the Bednarik Award by the Maxwell Football Club on Tuesday. Turner is a finalist along with Laiatu Latu from UCLA and Payton Wilson of NC State.
Turner's credited with 44 quarterback pressures, with 46 tackles and 12.5 for a loss and eight sacks. Turner's produced 13 quarterback hurries with two forced fumbles and a pass breakup as he's been an impactful player on Alabama's defense.
Crimson Tide Kicker Will Reichard was announced as a finalist for the Lou Groza Collegiate Placekicker Award.
Reichard is joined by Graham Nicholson of Miami of Ohio and Jose Pizano from UNLV as finalists.
The graduate student from Hoover is tied for the all-time mark for career points. He's tallied 104 of his career 530 points in 2023. He's made 18 of 21 field goal attempts, while going 50 of 50 on extra-points. Reichard's even stepped into emergency punting duties in a few games when James Burnip suffered a minor injury.
The Crimson Tide has never had a Groza Award winner. However, Alabama has celebrated three prior Bednarik Award winners in Jonathan Allen, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Will Anderson Jr.
Both awards will be given on out Dec. 8 during ESPN's Home Depot College Football Awards Show.
