Nick Saban Joins Alabama Football Fans in Honoring 2023 Team Captains at Denny Chimes

Jalen MIlroe, Malachi Moore and Dallas Turner are forever immortalized with hand and footprints at Denny Chimes.

The Alabama football program is holding its 15th and final spring practice inside Byant-Denny Stadium on Saturday as in its annual A-Day finale. This is head coach Kalen DeBoer's first A-Day as head coach of the Crimson Tide marking the beginning of a new era in Alabama football.

The Alabama program took pause before A-Day kicked off to honor the 2023 Alabama football captains. Quarterback Jalen Milroe, linebacker Dallas Turner and safety Malachi Moore all joined former Alabama football coach Nick Saban at Denny Chimes to greet the fans and have their hands and feet placed in wet cement in the center of the quad.

"This is the first time I've got to address the coach, but I'm one of you. I'm one of the fans now," said Saban to the crowd. "This is a great tradition that we have, that captains of the team have a legacy that withstands the test of time, relative to anybody coming back here, their children coming back here someday to be able to see what they accomplished. This last year's team is probably one of the teams that I'm most proud of for the progress that they made, the whole "LANK" idea of not starting out very well and everybody working so hard to improve and these three guys had as big an impact on that as anybody with their leadership. The example that they set, they were a person that other players on the team can emulate, their work ethic, their perseverance, how they cared for the other players on the team and made us a team. These guys are responsible for that. I can't thank them enough for their hard work and all that they did to make the team what it was and you can be proud of the SEC Championship, the playoff that they were able to establish for themselves and I'm very, very proud of that team and I'm very, proud of these guys for all that they did. I'd also like to thank you the fans for 17 years of your support which made the program what it is. When we stepped on this campus 17 years ago there were 95,000 at the A-Day game. That set the tone for what Alabama was going to become, what this program was going to become and it was all because of you being a part of the team and the support that you gave us and I know the player appreciate that more than you know. So thank you very much for all of your support, thank these guys. Thank you for being here today to honor these guys because they certainly deserve it because they did a fantastic job for our team last year as leaders. Thank you very much, and Roll Tide!"

Milroe and Moore departed to join the current Crimson Tide football team as they're set to participate in A-Day while Turner stayed to soak in the moment with his family as he's set for the NFL Draft in two weeks.

The Alabama A-Day game kicks off at 3 p.m. inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.
