Alabama basketball has a late addition to the 2023 recruiting class as Kris Parker committed to the Crimson Tide Friday afternoon.

Parker, a 6-foot-6, 170-pound small forward in the 2023 class, chose the Crimson Tide over Villanova, Central Florida and Missouri. The 4-star recruit is the No. 20 small forward and the No. 10 player in the state of Florida, making the Quincy native one of the highest-ranked unsigned prospects in the class prior to joining Alabama.

An interesting thing about this addition is that the Alabama roster doesn't have a lot of true wing depth. Nate Oats utilizes a lot of guards and has grown in favor of using three-guard lineups with Brandon Miller at the 4-spot.

It has worked so it's unlikely that will change in the future, but with Miller heading to the NBA and Dom Welch's eligibility coming to an end, Alabama could use Parker's size off the bench.

Parker also brings the ability to get his own shot, albeit most of his shots come in the mid-range area. But his elevation makes his shot hard to block from the mid-range or from 3-point range.

Parker's addition brings the number of the 2023 class to five, joining Davin Cosby, Sam Walters, Mouhamed Dioubate and R.J. Johnson.
