Another top prospect has decommitted from Alabama in the wake of the program's hiring of former Washington coach Kalen DeBoer as Nick Saban's successor.

Class of 2025 wide receiver Jaime Ffrench, a five-star player who had been committed to come to Tuscaloosa since the summer, told On3 of his decision on Sunday. The Jacksonville, Fla., product becomes the second five-star receiving prospect to decommit since Saban's retirement on Wednesday, after Saraland star Ryan Williams announced his intentions to do so on the day Saban's plans became apparent to the world.

Ffrench plays at Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, where he logged 671 yards on 44 catches in the 2022 season, the year before his original commitment to Alabama last July 22. At the time of that decision, he was ranked 15th in the 2025 ESPN 300. His older brother, Maurice, played Power Five college football at Pittsburgh before NFL stints with Kansas City and the Los Angeles Chargers. In 2023, the younger Ffrench expanded upon his prior numbers, posting a career-best 1,274 yards this past fall.

DeBoer was officially introduced on Saturday afternoon and asked players to give him a chance. In spite of this request, a number of established Crimson Tide players have already elected to jump ship. Wide receiver Isaiah Bond confirmed his decision to transfer to Texas on Sunday. Ffrench has other offers from SEC schools, including Auburn, Georgia and Florida, as well as in-state option Florida State and others. 247Sports Composite ranks him as the No. 11 player nationwide in his class.
