Recruiting Rundown: Programs Celebrate Early Signing Period

Alabama baseball, softball and basketball celebrated the early signing period this week by welcoming in new athletes

The Alabama football team is out of town this weekend and only have one more home game to host a big recruiting weekend but it was a still a busy week at The Capstone.

Multiple sports celebrated national signing day by welcoming in future prospects.

Alabama Basketball 

  • Aiden Sherrell is a 5-star prospect out of California. He's the No. 2 overall forward in the class and averages 18.8 and 9.3 rebounds per game in high school.
  • Naas Cunningham is a 4-star prospect out of New Jersey. He's considered the No. 44 player in the class by On3 Sports.

Alabama basketball head coach Nate Oats said he is still looking to add to the 2024 class.

Alabama Women's Basketball

  • Eris Lester is a 4-star prospect out of Jacksonville, Fla. The guard is considered the No. 39 overall player in the class according to ESPNW.
  • Chloe Spreen is a guard out of Indiana. ProspectsNation considered her a 4-star prospect and the No. 46 overall player in the class.
  • Leah Brooks is a forward out of Hazel Green in Huntsville, Ala. The 6-3 athlete is a three-time class 6A champion.

Alabama Soccer

The Crimson Tide soccer program signed eight players in the 2024 class. 

  • Breezie Brewer is a defender out of California. 
  • Kiley Kukan is a midfielder out of Missouri.
  • Lexi Meyer is a midfielder out of Colorado.
  • Madi Munguia is a goalie out of Washington.
  • Sophia Neves is a forward out of Utah.
  • Madeline Padelski is a forward out of Tennessee.
  • Ashley Roni is a forward out of Washington.
  • Maison Smith is a defender out of Missouri.

Alabama Softball

The Crimson Tide softball program welcomes four players in its 2024 class.

  • Braya Hodges is a pitcher out of Houston Academy in Dothan, Ala. 
  • Mari Hubbard is an infielder out of Huntsville High School. She was considered the No. 22 ranked player in the class by Extra Innings Softball.
  • Kennedy Marceaux is an infielder out of Louisiana and ranked the No. 8 player in the class by Extra Innings Softball.
  • Audrey Vandagriff is an outfielder out of Georgia. She was considered the No. 18 player in the class by Extra Innings Softball. Her older brother Brock plays quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs.

Alabama Gymnastics

Alabama gymnastics added five athletes to its 2024 class.

  • Love Birt is out of Delaware. 
  • Brooke Dennis is out of Orlando, Fla.
  • Ryan Fuller is out of California.
  • Kylee Kvamme is out of Auburn, Wash.
  • Paityn Walker is out of California.

The Crimson Tide football program will be back in Tuscaloosa for its final home game next Saturday when they take on UT-Chattanooga and that will also mark the last big in-person recruiting event of the year.
