Former Offensive Lineman Enters Transfer Portal

Chamblee has change of heart after leaving college football

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas offensive lineman Andrew Chamblee has entered the transfer portal, per Matt Zenitz of 247sports.

The 6-6, 304 pounder signed with Arkansas out of high school during the 2022 recruiting cycle. He was a 4-star prospect and also the No. 2 player in the state of Arkansas and No. 17 offensive tackle in his class. Chamblee was a decorated signee who played in the All-American game as a senior.

Although he redshirted as a true freshman in 2022, Chamblee was thrust into a starting role when Devon Manuel went down to injury during camp. He was one of three Razorback freshmen to be named to the All-SEC team along with Isaiah Satenga at kick returner and Jaylen Braxton at cornerback.

Arkansas signed three transfer offensive linemen out of the portal: Keyshawn Blackstock (Michigan State), Addison Nichols (Tennessee) and Fernando Carmona (San Jose State). All three are projected to compete for starting roles.

During Sam Pittman’s pre-spring press conference, he shared that Chamblee had left the football program to focus on things outside of sports.

"Andrew Chamblee just lost the love for the game,” Pittman said. “He decided to become a regular student.”

Chamblee responded later that Tuesday in a post on X that’s now deleted saying, “We not done yet.”

It appears that Chamblee has now had a change of heart and wants to continue his football career elsewhere. With the spring football transfer portal still to come, Arkansas will have an opportunity to add a lineman or two for depth purposes or even start next season.
