Former Top-15 Recruit Enters Transfer Portal After One Season With Hogs

In this story:
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Freshman guard Taliah Scott has entered the transfer portal after just one season at Arkansas under coach Mike Neighbors, Scott announced on X (formerly Twitter) Monday.
After lots of thought and consideration, I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal. I want to say thank you to the coaches and staff. Also, thank you to the Arkansas fanbase for embracing me and to everyone who has supported me.

Scott leaves the program after earning SEC All-Freshman Team honors. The Orange Park, Fla. native was a 5-star recruit and ranked No.11 overall by ESPN for the class of 2023. She became the first player in SEC history to win four straight conference Freshman of the Week awards. She also tied a Razorback record for most Freshman of the Week honors (five).
Known for her ability to score, Scott averaged 22.1 points and 3.3 rebounds a game in 20 games and scored a season-high 34 points against Arkansas State, just three short of the Arkansas all-time freshman record set by Bettye Fiscus in 1981. However, her time at Arkansas was marred by two lengthy absences. Scott only played in five conference games after missing four contests early in SEC play with a back injury and the final six due to a family emergency.
The Razorbacks will play the first round of the WBIT without Scott against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on the road inside the Donald W. Reynolds Center in Tulsa. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday and the game will be streamed on ESPN+.
