Anonymous high school recruits didn't like talking to Nick Saban

Several anonymous high school recruits told The Athletic things about Nick Saban and the recruiting process.

Auburn fans know better than anyone about how good Nick Saban has been at bringing in top classes since he arrived at Alabama.

In a recent article by The Athletic($), they interviewed anonymous high school recruits with some basic questions and shared their answers.

Several recruits mentioned Saban when asked, "Who was the weirdest or most arrogant coach you met during the process and why?"

One recruit shared how Saban was at the dinner table with his family and he didn't acknowledge his parents, only the recruit. Rightfully so, the recruit's mother pointed that out.

One recruit answered the question saying, "I didn’t like (Nick) Saban. It was just the vibe."

Another said, "(Jimbo) Fisher and Saban. Talking to Saban felt like talking to a robot. It didn’t feel real."

Despite these recruits saying these things, Alabama's recruiting class stands second to Georgia on both the On3 and 247 class rankings.

Auburn and Hugh Freeze were not mentioned in the answers given by the anonymous high school recruits.

Auburn's 2024 class is seen as the seventh-ranked class in the country with the 2025 class being ranked as high as fifth by 247 sports. The class is ranked seventh by On3.
