A reserve defensive back has entered the transfer portal.

Austin Ausberry, a former three-star prospect in the 2022 cycle, has entered the transfer portal, per his social media. Ausberry appeared in seven games over the course of two seasons with the Tigers, recording two tackles. He recorded his only tackle of the 2023 season against Ole Miss.

The 6-foot, 200-pound safety was ranked the No. 39 cornerback in the 2022 recruiting class and the No. 21 overall player in the state of Louisiana. Ausberry is listed as a redshirt freshman by Auburn and should have three seasons of eligibility remaining.

10 Auburn players have declared and entered the transfer portal since its opening:

DL Stephen Johnson

EDGE Stephen Sings V

DL Enyce Sledge (Illinois)

WR Jyaire Shorter

WR Malcolm Johnson JR

TE Tyler Fromm

S Marquise Gilbert

DL Wilky Denaud

S Austin Ausberry

Georgia State WR Robert Lewis is the only player the Tigers have added since the transfer portal opened earlier this month.

The former three-star prospect made Third-Team All-Sun Belt in 2023 after collecting 70 receptions for 877 yards and seven receiving touchdowns. Lewis' best performance of the season came early against Charlotte, where the 5-foot-11 wideout hauled in six passes for 220 yards and two scores.
