REPORT: Auburn wide receiver target is expected to visit Florida Saturday

One of Auburn's top wide receiver targets will visit Florida after visiting Auburn.

Florida is expected to host Liberty transfer wide receiver CJ Daniels according to Gators Online.

Daniels was in Auburn on Friday and the visit seemed to go well.

"Auburn was definitely my first visit and I'm definitely interested," Daniels told reporters after his visit.

Daniels told Auburn Live.com, “Coach Freeze said he wouldn’t contact me if he didn’t need me. He said I can come in and be impactful.”

Auburn needs help at wide receiver. With talented true freshmen like Cam Coleman and Perry Thompson and Georgia State transfer Robert Lewis, Auburn still needs pop at the wide receiver position. The Tigers brought in Sam Jackson V from Cal to play wide receiver as well.

Daniels finished the 2023 season with 55 receptions for 1,067 yards and 10 touchdowns. Prior to his breakout season, Daniels had 887 yards and 11 touchdowns, most of which came in 2021 (629 yards, seven touchdowns).

Daniels played 665 snaps at Liberty last season. Of those, 205 were at slot receiver, and 448 were lined out wide. The Tigers need help at depth at both spots. Daniels would be a big addition to the room.

Counting the four incoming true freshmen, Auburn has 10 wide receivers on scholarship.
