Auburn football's 2023 fall camp has officially begun.

Hugh Freeze will begin his tenure with the Tigers on the field in just a few short weeks as his team prepares through a number of practices.

Auburn begins camp with a three-man quarterback race between Robby Ashford, transfer Payton Thorne and Holden Geriner.

Thorne has been the projected starter ever since he committed to the Tigers earlier this year, but Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze has been adamant that this is a legitimate competition that will be trimmed down in a week or so.

The quarterbacks aren't the only focus in the start of the Freeze era, as there are a plethora of new faces across the roster that the Tigers added through the transfer portal.

When the search for a new football coach began after the dismissal of Bryan Harsin, many fans and people around Auburn knew this was a pivotal hire. The program was at a low point not experienced in quite some time, and it needed an infusion of hope and energy.

It needed a football version of Auburn basketball coach Bruce Pearl.

Read here how Hugh Freeze may be the football version of the Tigers' basketball coach.

The country has been put on notice, Auburn football is back and so is its ability to go out and get the top talent that the fans expect. The past week has given Auburn a taste of what its biggest rivals have had for years, and that is five-star talent. Alabama has managed to get at least one five-star prospect every year since 2008, and Georgia has managed to secure five stars in all but one year in that same time frame.

Auburn during this period has been less successful, getting only getting eight five stars in that 15-year stretch according to 247 Sports. Last week alone the Tigers got two commitments from two in-state five-star prospects.

Who are some of the top players the Tigers are looking to add to their 2024 class? Read about them here.
