Athlon Sports predicts Auburn to finish last in the SEC West
Athlon Sports puts out a magazine every year previewing the upcoming college football season.
In the magazine, they predicted the record for all of the teams, and Athlon picked Auburn to go 6-6 overall and 2-6 in SEC play.
This prediction has Auburn losing to Mississippi State since these two teams have the same record in the predictions, but Mississippi State is ranked higher.
I believe the national media is sleeping on the Auburn Tigers.
Hugh Freeze brought in so much talent via the transfer portal that it's hard to see a world where this team doesn't win eight games.
I do believe six wins are on the table for the team, but I feel comfortable saying Auburn could win seven or eight games, and I would not be surprised.
Hopefully, word spreads around the locker room that Auburn was picked to finish last, and the Tigers are able to have a season where they exceed expectations.
Auburn always seems to do something special when people are sleeping on them.
