BYU Opens as an Underdog Against TCU

On Sunday, the Action Network released the opening betting lines for week seven of the college football season. BYU opened as a five-point underdog to TCU. The Cougars and the Horned Frogs will kick off on Saturday afternoon in Fort Worth, Texas. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.

BYU is 4-1 this season and coming off a bye week. The Horned Frogs are 3-3 and coming off a 27-14 loss to Iowa State. Most notably, TCU starting quarterback Chandler Morris left the game with what appeared to be a knee injury and did not return. His injury status for this week against BYU is unknown.

If Morris is unavailable for this game, the line will likely move in BYU's favor.

A Rivalry Renewed

This game will mark the first conference game between BYU and TCU since 2010. BYU and TCU were conference peers in the Mountain West from 2005-2010. In 2011, BYU left the Mountain West to be an independent program in football. In 2012, TCU left the Mountain West to join the Big 12. The two former conference rivals were reunited over the Summer when BYU officially joined the Big 12. In total, these two programs have faced each other 11 teams. TCU leads the series 6-5. The Horned Frogs have won their last four games against BYU.
