On Saturday night, TCU quarterback Chandler Morris left the game against Iowa State with what appeared to be a knee injury. On Monday, Steven Johnson of the Forth Worth Star-Telegram reported that Morris will not play "for awhile" after he suffered an injury against Iowa State. He also reported that Josh Hoover will start for the Horned Frogs at quarterback.

Hoover replaced Morris in the lineup against Iowa State after Morris left with an injury. Hoover, a three-star recruit from Texas, fumbled a handoff on his first play from scrimmage against the Cyclones. Hoover's second throw of the game was intercepted. On the ensuing drive, Iowa State dropped another would-be Hoover interception. Hoover finished the game against Iowa State 11/19 for 119 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception.

Hoover has played in very limited opportunities at TCU. Coming into the game against Iowa State, Hoover had just four career pass attempts. Hoover will be making his first career start against BYU.

Chandler Morris' injury could have major implications for BYU's upcoming game at TCU. Morris has been one of the most productive quarterbacks in the conference. Coming into the game against Iowa State, Morris had thrown for over 1,400 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was also a major part of the Horned Frogs' rushing attack. He had already run for 235 yards going into the game against the Cyclones.

BYU and TCU kick off on Saturday afternoon and the game will be broadcast on ESPN.
