BYU DT Commit Moa Havili Delivers Highlight Big-Man Touchdown Run

In this story:
Defensive tackle prospect Moa Havili committed to BYU back in May. The Granger High School product went from lesser-known recruit to national recruit in the matter of three weeks. He picked up competing offers from the likes of Alabama, Oregon, Michigan, and Utah before committing to BYU.
Havili became a national recruit because of his ability to get after the passer and bully offensive linemen with his size and strength. On Thursday night, Havili lined up at a different position for Granger High School: fullback.
The 300-pound Havili took the hand-off, threw multiple defenders to the ground with multiple stiff arms, then outran the defense for the 80-yard touchdown run.
Moa Havili is a BYU DT commit that can also do this.

The stiff arm was impressive enough, but the speed to get around the corner and take it the distance?? pic.twitter.com/J4m9cw7m4I
Havili won't be asked to run the ball at BYU, but the highlight touchdown run showed Havili's strength and athleticism at his size. He has the potential to be a long-term starter for BYU at defensive tackle. He is also a candidate to buy into the culture that Kalani Sitake is building at BYU. Havili described BYU as his "dream offer" after he announced his scholarship. Havili wasted no time and announced his commitment to the Cougars just days later. In the revenue share era, it's important to find players that are bought into BYU.
Ironically, Havili is not the only BYU defensive tackle commit that carries the football for his high school. California native and four-star BYU commit Jeremiah Williams also lines up at running back for his high school. Williams is over 300 pounds, but he moves extremely well for his size.

The 4 ⭐️ 315 pound senior from Tustin, CA plays both DT and RB and moves incredibly well for his size.
We could see him taking RB snaps next year at BYU👀🚨@Jeremiah_W22 pic.twitter.com/8gtc1KswpD
BYU's defensive tackle duo is part of what might be BYU's best defensive line class in the Kalani Sitake era. Besides the two standout defensive tackles, BYU also holds commitments from edge rushers Uhila Wolfgramm and Jag Ioane. Wolfgramm turned down Oklahoma to commit to BYU along with a host of other programs. Ioane picked BYU over Washington, Utah, and Michigan.
In the first weekend of the high school football season, Uhila Wolfgramm had multiple sacks and quarterback hits against Lehi. If Wolgramm was not double or triple teamed, he was getting after the quarterback at will.
Wolfgramm has the potential to be a future star for BYU. He took note of Havili's touchdown run on social media. If BYU can hold on to all of these coveted recruits until signing day, this class has the potential to transform BYU's future defensive line.
🤝🤝🇹🇴🇹🇴 lets go!
