Weekly Net: Bearcats At-Large NCAA Tournament Hopes Take Fatal Shot Following Houston Loss

One Bracketology site has Cincinnati pegged with no chance to make the field unless they win the AAC Tournament.

CINCINNATI — The Bearcats men's basketball team suffered a fatal blow to its NCAA Tournament hopes on Saturday. Winning the AAC Tournament is the only way into the field after a 75-69 loss to Houston.

Cincinnati sits 78th in the NET Rankings but is now 1-7 in Quad 1/2 games following the latest update. Based on the current standings, they only have four Q2 games left and no Q1s with Houston off the schedule.

UC's one Q2 win came against No. 130 Wichita State. Beating the Shockers isn't wowing anyone these days.

They play UCF twice, at Tulane, and Memphis, but it won't be enough.

Team Rankings gives Cincinnati a 0% chance to get an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament. A signature win needs to come at some point—doing it in March to drive a conference tournament run never hurts.
