2024 UC Commit Jake Wheelock Listed Among Players CFB Staffers Are High On

CINCINNATI — On3's Matt Zenitz spoke with Power Five staffers across the country to see which "unheralded" recruits are prime candidates to outperform their rankings.

Three-star Cincinnati offensive line commit Jake Wheelock, out of Stebbins (Ohio), landed on the list.

“Just a hard-nosed, tough, resilient guy," The source told Zenitz. "Aside from that, he has really good feet, quickness and balance. Used to be 300+. Now he’s (about 270) of good weight.”

According to 247Sports, Wheelock is the 752nd-ranked player overall and the 50th-ranked interior offensive lineman. Wheelock chose Cincinnati from a final group of UC, Virginia Tech, and Duke.

Wheelock's moved up 22 spots on the 247Sports Composite rankings since he committed.
