Four-Star 2024 Guard Labaron Philon Places UC Among Top Schools

Cincinnati re-offered the talent in April.

CINCINNATI — UC is firmly in the mix with four-star 2024 guard Labaron Philon out of Link Academy (Missouri) after re-offering him this past April. He has Kansas, Alabama, Ole Miss, and UC as his final four school choices.

Philon originally committed to Auburn but de-committed in April.

According to 247Sports, Philon is the 31st-ranked player nationally and the third-ranked point guard. That's a 10-spot national jump since April. ESPN has him ranked 31st overall.

The third-best player in Missouri posted 34.7 points per game last season as one of the nation's best scorers.

Pull-up precision.

The 6-foot-4, 170-pound weapon brings plenty of that to the table for Link Academy. Philon is a talented half-court maestro who uses a strong crossover to create space whenever he needs it. The finishing skills are all there around the rim, whether it is with his strong hand or not.

Shooting-wise, Philon has a compact stroke that he deploys from the midrange and on the outside via catch-and-shoot opportunities. Add in a heady steal acumen on defense that he turns into fast breaks and it's not hard to see why Philon is one of the top 2024 players in Missouri.

His game would fit perfectly in Wes Miller's balanced, up-tempo style.
