CINCINNATI — Nine Bearcats drafted.

That's not a typo after the Indianapolis Colts selected Curtis Brooks in the sixth round with the 216th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

The defensive tackle was a mauler towards opposing QBs last year and viewed as a fringe draft pick in this class, but he made the cut with nearly fifty picks to spare.

Brooks will fight for a roster spot in Indianapolis but should earn a strong chance to make the team with his playmaking ability (7.5 sacks in 2021). He joins second-round pick Alec Pierce as a member of the Colts.

Cincinnati has shattered its previous record of six draft picks in one year (2009). They now sport the most decorated Group of Five Draft class since at least 1990.
