New Mexico State Safety Mekhi Miller Commits to Cincinnati

The secondary got a big boost in recent days.

CINCINNATI — The commitments keep flowing as Cincinnati is up to a handful in recent days with former New Mexico State safety Mekhi Miller choosing UC to continue his college career after visiting last week.

Miller has one year of eligibility left after posting 59 tackles, four pass breakups, and two interceptions last season. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound thumper posted a nice 76.9 PFF grade last season. That came across 568 snaps and included a 79.3 coverage grade.

Miller can play safety and slot cornerback and should be a solid, versatile addition to UC's secondary after that unit hemorrhaged yards in 2023. He is the latest secondary transfer addition joining, safety Kye Stokes, safety Logan Wilson, and cornerback Ormanie Arnold.

Cincinnati was ranked 30th on 247Sports among 2024 transfer classes just before Miller committed.
